How to play

Win states, score points

Each hand is a round of Whiskey Poker. Win the hand and you claim a state on the map. Win as many states as you can, because the player with the highest score at the end wins.

On your turn

The five cards in the middle are dealt face down. The first player dealt to must turn them over, or take all five blind.

Once the middle is face up, you can take one card from it, take all five, draw one from the bones, pass, or knock. The one exception: if you've just turned the middle over, you can't take all five on that same turn. You don't have to take a card before you knock. Changed your mind after swapping a card? Swap it back (the same card goes back to the same spot) and pick again. You only ever change one card per turn. After a knock, everyone else gets one last turn, then the hands are shown.

Every player scores each hand, whether they win a state or not:

When you win a state that shares a border with a state you already hold, you get +1 contig point. Build a connected block of states to keep collecting it. Alaska and Hawaii count as neighbours of each other only.
